DIVISION OF FANS INTO KINGDOMS AND NATIONS DESTROYING THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. KNEE LANTE
Award-winning Ghanaian musician and
physician specialist, Knii Lante, has recently shared his thoughts on the state of the
Ghanaian music industry in an interview with Asaase Radio. According to him, the division between fans of different artists is one of the biggest hurdles that is hindering the growth of the industry. He feels that this division is p
the industry from reaching its full potential and becoming a major player in the world music scene.
Knii Lante was particularly concerned about the comments he received after he tweeted to congratulate Sarkodie for being featured on the Bob Marley's "Stir it up" remake. He called the
backlash "heartbreaking" and said that it was a prime example of the kind of division that is k
the industry. "I mean these divisions into groups of fans and nations, I don’t know how it is helping us because we have taken it so
seriously that Artiste A fans will not be tolerant to listen to Artiste B and vice versa," he said.
The musician believes that this division is slowing down the pace of growth for the entertainment industry. He thinks that big i
are being deterred from investing in the music industry due to this division between fans. "We’re killing our attractiveness to the
international recording industry by this thing we’re doing," Knii said.
However, Knii Lante believes that the problem can be solved if the entertainment industry works together to promote unity and oneness. He feels that the entertainment pundits and
other gatekeepers of the music industry should be pushing for unity rather than trying to pit a
against each other. By promoting unity, strength and oneness, the industry will become more
attractive to investors, and the growth of the industry will be accelerated.
In conclusion, Knii Lante's comments shed light on a major issue facing the Ghanaian music industry. It is clear that the division between fans is hindering the growth of the industry and making it less attractive to investors. However, by promoting unity and oneness, the industry can overcome this challenge and reach its full potential.
